Being in the “Beauty” industry for more than a decade (makeup-artist and musician), I’m always on the hunt for greatness when it comes to beauty products especially skincare, because SKIN is always IN.. I try them, and try them again, and now that I’ve got a place where I can rave about it-I’m here to report back with the best of the best! I’ve been part of the Sunday Riley cult for more than 2 years now (on and off as I always test A LOT of skincare products and always on a hunt, but it has been always part of my “base” skincare routine) and I can truly say that Sunday Riley Beauty is science-meets-nature luxury skincare brand that I really love! If you follow my Instagram, Sunday Riley is quite familiar on my "skincare log" posts.

It is perfect union between advanced chemistry and pure, potent botanicals, Sunday Riley produces a highly effective skincare and makeup line with a devoted following. Her products promise effortless, rich colour application and high-performance, instant results. Globally renowned makeup artists and high-profile celebrities are hooked on the brand because of the lush colour palettes, cutting edge formulas, and lightweight, breathable application. Sunday Riley products have also become a beauty go-to on the runways of many major fashion brands.

Sunday Riley has harnessed her native, North American botanicals to create a range of potent anti-ageing products. Her patented NV-5 Ageless Complex marries five traditional skincare ingredients with hi-tech processes, to maximise their reparative and skin brightening properties. Sunday Riley Colour marries her skin perfecting formulas with the finest mineral pigments, to create make-up such as you've never known it before. With saturated colour suspended in light-as-air, skin nourishing treatments, this astonishing range not only provides instant enhancement, but works to improve the look and feel of your complexion over time.

Freida Pinto, Cameron Diaz, Gwyneth Paltrow, Helen Mirren and Victoria Beckham are just some of Sunday's age-defying A-List devotees.

So let’s talk about my Sunday Riley faves!

A multi-purpose treatment, Good Genes works hard to un-do the damage caused by sunlight, acne, pollution & less-than-healthy lifestyle choices! The potent blend of ingredients combine to plump fine lines, fight hyper-pigmentation, heal scar tissue & boost circulation so skin looks smoother, younger & more vibrant. It can be used daily to give your complexion a moisture & radiance boost, or applied as a treatment mask to increase circulation & get skin glowing ahead of a special occasion.

*HIGH POTENCY, PHARMACEUTICAL GRADE LACTIC ACID-Plumps lines, exfoliates and refines skin, decreases wrinkle depth over time.

*LEMONGRASS-Boosts circulation, which brings oxygen to the skin, increases vibrance and radiance.

*LICORICE-Natural skin brightener. Anti-inflammatory.

*ARNICA-Boosts circulation, skin soothing. Helps counteract sting of lactic acid.

*YEAST-Helps heal the skin, create stronger, healthier tissue.

*NV AGELESS COMPLEX (5 native American Botanicals which rejuvenate damages skin, Pro-Actively fight aging, Anti-pollution, Detoxifying)

This, is indeed a very popular cult product, one of the first products that made me a convert.

Good Genes, like I said is a bit of a multi-tasking product that is aimed at reducing signs of aging, while smoothing, refining, clarifying and brightening the skin while improving on skin thickness and elasticity. Its key ingredient is lactic acid (40%), and contains a load of actives that aren’t quite aimed at anyone with VERY sensitive skin. In fact, you are warned that you may even experience tingling on your skin when you use it. It is a chemical AHA-based exfoliant so I’m really not surprised.

The active here is lactic acid, so sensitive types and rosacea sufferers may find it too much (though lactic is generally less likely to irritate than things like salicylic, there is a definite tingle here) and because of this, it’s basically a resurfacing serum.

It feels very silicon-ish on the fingertips and so spreads very smoothly on the face. Packaging wise, have you seen it? Looks stunning and great on my vanity but not only that, IT FRICKIN WORKS! Can be used daily, morning and evening, by applying one pump of serum to the entire face, avoiding eye area, before other treatments and moisturisers. That said, both the texture and acid content mean that I’d avoid wearing it during the day, as makeup doesn’t apply that well over the top. Instead, I’ve been wearing it nightly to bed (under  other beauty products  or Sunday Riley oils). Overall, this is an amazing serum for anyone especially those who have skin concerns like uneven skin tone, scarring, hyper pigmentation or discolouration, please do try it out.  It sure is worth the hype.

The flash facial: two products, one dramatic result. Lactic acid plus green clay DIY mask to reveal flawless, glowing, radiant skin—in a flash. Mix three pumps of Good Genes with two pumps of Ceramic Slip, leave on for five to 10 minutes, and rinse off. For sensitive skin, begin use as a mask two to three times a week, building tolerance to lactic acid exposure. Layer under all other Sunday Riley treatments, except for Luna Sleeping Night Oil, for most amplified results. When used together with Luna Sleeping Night Oil, apply after the oil has been absorbed into skin.

This cruelty-free product is vegan, gluten-free, and hypoallergenic. It is formulated without synthetic fragrances. It doesn’t have any mineral oil, shea butter, sulfates, phthalates, parabens. So many PROs on this product, it really does what it says on the lovely, perfect packaging that comes with it. The ONLY downside to some probably is the price. It’s £85 a pop for 30 ml. Which is not really as expensive as a lot of high-end skincare treatments but certainly not a budget price tag. I must say, it does last me a long time as I rarely use it 2x a day, that’s a tad much for moi.

Next stop. FACE OILS. My love for face oils has never been a secret. I’m OBSESSED with them. I’ve used jojoba oil, aloe vera essential oils, tea tree, eucalyptus, coconut oil and lavender essential oils, you name it! So when I discovered Sunday Riley few years ago (was quite a buzz among makeup  artists backstage on fashion shows), I just knew I just need to try their face oils too! I know these are high-end oil blends but what I love being beauty obsessed, is I question practically everything. I have so many questions about the high-end combinations: Are they worth the price? Do they really perform any differently? Do they  feel more luxurious? What’s the difference between a £30 oil and £50 plus or £70 and above oil? Today I’ll be talking about just a few of the high-end beauty oils I’ve been using for quite awhile now-The Sunday Riley Hydroactive Cellular Face Oils in Juno and Flora.

Both Sunday Riley Face oils , JUNO and FLORA come packaged in sturdy, lovely coloured glass bottles, and each of which contains a glass dropper. It’s really not hard to reach for these oils when displayed on your vanity table as the labels on these bottles are just stunning. I just love the amazing luxe packaging!

This oil has a moderately strong, fresh herbal scent that doesn’t linger for a long time on the skin though. Between the two, FLORA has to be my favourite, if we talk about “smell”.

I love everything ROSES, who doesn’t nowadays? I really love the smell of pure rose hip oil! A blend of  Russian, Bulgarian, Turkish roses—a whole of symphony of rose going on which is amazing. I believe FLORA used to be called ISIS with an updated formula from what I’ve seen.

Both oils are much lighter in texture, feel on the skin. Medium in thickness I guess compared to the consistency to olive oil for example…When I apply these oils in the evenings, I usually use one whole dropper-full, then spread the oil all over my face and neck after my serum but before my moisturiser. It absorbs faster and doesn’t feel too greasy or sticky. I’ve also been using both oils on rotation during the day time especially when my skin is feeling dull and dehydrated. I use a couple of drops of the oil on my skin and wait for a couple of minutes for it to sink in before doing my makeup. It really gives me that gorgeous glow and radiance to the skin and makes my makeup glide on smoothly. It doesn’t make my makeup look shiny or greasy at all. Or another trick I’ve been using for several years, mixing a drop or two with my foundation and BOOM! It gives me that J.Lo glow, dewy skin rather than on the matte side.

Overall, I do love both face oils. Both of them are quite moisturising, hydrating and very luxurious. You see, my skin is combination. It’s oily on the T-zone and dry cheeks. It gets really dry/dehydrated especially during the winter! Both of these oils spreads over the skin smoothly and quickly absorbs into the skin, leaving behind a healthy radiance. It didn’t feel heavy on my skin at all. I know, I know what you’re thinking— and no it doesn’t give me breakouts. Counter-intuitive as it sounds, oils can be your saviour when you suffer from breakouts or acne. Like traditional anti-acne products, many oils contain anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and soothing compounds. Like these oils. But unlike some popular spot-fighters, these oils are also packed with vitamins, amino acids and anti-oxidants to heal, protect and hydrate sore, put-upon skin. And no, they won't clog your pores and make you go even oilier. Many people try and combat congested skin by using harsh, stripping products that remove all oils from the skin. This causes the skin to over-compensate for the reduction of oils by producing even more, which in turn worsens the congestion. The main thing is to make sure that you’re using the right kind of oil. Steer clear of mineral oils—they’ll clog your pores and basically put you on the express train to breakout city. Your best bet is to stick with plant-based oils to treat your skin concerns.

They’re really both beautiful from the packaging to the amazing aroma, have a broader range of anti-oxidants and benefits than any individual oils and the gorgeous glow it gives you—they can still be a little pricy.  I know there are other luxury blend oils with lesser price BUT I got these as a splurge. If you happen to check on the reviews on these products, you’d know that a lot of us DON’T regret the purchase or repurchasing it haha. I'm actually looking of getting Artemis the next time, the famous LUNA sleeping oil can wait as I do have a separate retinol treatment anyway.

Although I really love my Korean and Japanese skincare products, I also happen to love a good, luxurious skincare as well from the West like Sunday Riley. It’s one brand that has a permanent spot on my skincare routine.

I bought mine from Space.nk.apothecary, here.

Net-a-porter also sells them and Cult Beauty as well.
